Welcome to Robins Class Page
We are a Reception Class
Our class teacher is Mrs Brown
We have really enjoyed tasting lots of different fruits and yogurt this week. Some children said they loved the passionfruit, even after they were a bit worried to try it. We have had a special visit from fire fighters, we loved getting in the fire engine and spraying the water from the hose. We also had a Doctor come in and show us all the equipment in her bag- we all got a special sticker from her.
I have loved hearing all the lovely things you all got up to in half term. The children have enjoyed sharing their special books. We have been learning how to make sensible estimates using paper chains. We have focused a lot on how germs can spread and the importance of washing our hands properly. We really enjoyed doing the glitter experiment and practising washing our hands.
Playing in the snow
We enjoyed looking at our family albums
We brought our favourite toys into school
This week we have enjoyed learning all about the Three Little Pigs. We sang a song about the story and we played with the instruments. We have been finding out about symmetry and making symmetrical patterns. Next week we will be learning about toys old and new.
Happy New Year to you all!
The children have been telling me all the fun exciting things they got up to during the holidays it sounds like you all had a great time. Our topic this half term is ‘favourite things.’ We will be looking at different types of houses/homes this week and next week we will be doing work on the story ‘The Three Little Pigs.’ We have made junk model houses and painted pictures of our house. Some children have showed us their house on google maps.
Some of the children have said they have started making their family scrap book I am looking forward to seeing them all and getting to know you all more!
See you all soon,
We have PE on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
We have library every Thursday.
What a busy few weeks we have had. I was so proud of all the children on Tuesday they did so well to remember all the songs, lines and dance in our first class assembly. Thank you to all the parents/carers who attended the assembly and had breakfast with us. We have been learning all about underwater. We enjoyed the story of ‘The Rainbow Fish.’ We learnt all about bonfire night safety and the children enjoyed telling us about going to see the fireworks. The children liked feeling inside a pumpkin and describing what it felt and smelt like. Next week we have Anti-Bullying week and the children can come to school on Monday 12th November wearing odd socks for £1 all money raised will be donated to the Anti-Bullying alliance. We will be learning about British Values and doing some work on remembrance day. We also have a rock pool coming in on Thursday for the children to experience as part of our underwater topic.
See you all soon,
I have been enjoying getting to know all the new Robins. We have all settled in so well and have started to make new friends. It was lovely to see so many parents at the reception presentation this morning. I hope you all found it useful. Our topic is ‘New faces, New places’ the children will be going on a tour around the school and being introduced to all the staff in school. The children have also painted a picture of our class bird they all look lovely on display in our classroom. We have enjoyed learning some new songs and singing these in class. We went to our first whole school assembly on Friday and really liked learning new songs and playing instruments with Ms Thomas. See you all soon.
