I would just like to say a massive thank you to you and all your staff for going above and beyond this entire year in the most difficult of circumstances still. The chopping and changing of guidance, of opening and closing dates, and lack of equipment for schools and pupils alike has been a challenge I doubt any of you signed up for. But you have risen to it and delivered an education in the most professional of ways.
I sincerely hope that the return to school in September will be more like a return to normal – and I will be keeping a close eye on the progress of the COVID virus, and of the Government’s response to it and what it means for schools. I will do whatever I can in Parliament to ensure that you can return safely for the new academic year and that you are fully funded for the additional costs involved in keeping everyone safe on site this year.
I wish you all a much deserved enjoyable break, and I would be happy to visit any of your schools next year. If there are any issues you want me to take up in the interim, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Again, thank you, for delivering a brilliant education for our children and young people.
With kind regards
