Robins – Reception

Welcome to Robins!

We are a Reception class.

Our class teacher is Mrs Brown.

Please look at our class story on ClassDojo for the latest news and photographs showing what we have been doing in class.

Hello everyone, this week we have enjoyed our story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.’ The children worked hard in groups to retell the story. We liked using construction toys to make a bear cave. We practised doing bear dot to dots and using materials to collage a bear. We have been working hard on counting sets and matching to the correct number card. We had fun doing PE outdoors. This week you have been set a homework task on your portfolio on Class Dojo please return this by Tuesday for marking. Have a lovely weekend. Mrs Brown.

We have had a brilliant week this week. We have learnt all about our five senses and explored them in class. We found it funny trying to guess the different smells. We have enjoyed guessing who each baby was in the baby photographs. We have a lovely display in class of our painted portrait pictures, the children have done a great job. We also loved making our fruit salad. We have been working hard to develop our fine motor skills with lots of exercises to build our hand strength. I hope you all have a great weekend. See you on Monday

We have had another great week getting used to our new school routine. We have been mark making using lots of different techniques. We have read the story of ‘The Ugly Duckling’ and discussed how each of us are special and unique. We have learnt a song about our 5 senses, the children did very well remembering it, we will explore these further next week. Next week we would like the children to bring in a photograph of when they were a baby with their name written on the back to discuss how we have changed. We will also be making our fruit salad, if you haven’t already please return your consent form. We have some missing items after our PE session can you please check all items of uniform and PE kit, if anything doesn’t belong to your child please return it to school. If any of your child’s items are not labelled with their name please ensure you do this as it makes it easier to locate any missing items. Thank you! I hope you all have a great weekend and I will see you on Monday!

Hello, I would like to say a big well done to all the Robins. You have all settled into school so well, I am so proud of you all. We have been working hard to remember all of our new friends names. We have learnt lots of facts about Robins and painted some lovely pictures. I hope you all have a lovely weekend! See you Monday!

It was lovely to meet some of you you this week! We look forward to welcoming you all to our Stay and Play sessions on Monday and Tuesday, in uniform. There will be an opportunity to purchase book bags, water bottles and PE bags afterwards. We do not have a card machine, so please bring cash or cheque.
…and remember to bring them big smiles with you!
