Remote learning at Sudley Infant School.
The teachers continue to work very hard to provide a high quality remote learning offer for the children through ClassDojo. We are aware that some schools have chosen to undertake live teaching sessions however guidance from the DFE, Ofsted and the Liverpool Local authority make it clear that there is no requirement to do so.
We discussed our remote learning offer thoroughly as a school and felt that continuing with ClassDojo gave parents the organisational flexibility many would require, whilst working at home and/or coping with older siblings’ device requirements in order to access their home learning. We feel that ClassDojo provides the constant communication and feedback for our young learners, which would not necessarily be given during a live teaching session. School staff are able to respond to pupils and parents individually and can set work appropriate to learning needs as Year group staff team. School staff are also ensuring that ClassDojo is interactive, including video clips and resources to breakdown and aid learning and understanding. Our staff are determined to give each child the best possible remote learning experience and to support parents through this challenging time.
In conclusion, we will not be undertaking staff live lessons for our children at this present time.

As we work through this together, it is likely that we will face challenges. We will continue to reflect upon practice and so therefore further modifications and enhancements are likely to be introduced. We recognise that parent/carers will have different expectations and different opinions at different times. Decisions will continue to be made with the knowledge, timescales and resources school has at that given moment of time and we ask all parent/carers to work with us in line with our school spirit. Unreasonable expectations or unfair comparisons sadly take efforts away from what we always strive to do which is to further improve our service. This does not mean that the school is beyond criticism. We welcome ideas, suggestions and solutions so that together we work harmoniously for parent/carers, staff and our children.
