September 2020 admissions
Welcome to Sudley Infant School! We are delighted that your child will be joining us in September 2020. This is the start of an exciting journey for your family and we look forward to meeting you soon.
During these very uncertain times we are doing our best to ensure your child starts school in the safest way possible. At the moment we are not sure what this will look like. We ask you to be patient with us and we will get this information out to you as soon as possible. If you keep checking the school website for information it will be posted in the September 2020 Admissions section.
Update 7 July 2020
Staff from a Children’s Centre have put this booklet together to give you some handy tips about helping your child to prepare for school. Inside you will find lots of useful information about things you can do together and encourage your child to do independently to support the transition to school.
Update 6 July 2020
We have arranged a 2-hour transition session for each child to attend.
Each new starter will be allocated a time to visit their classroom and meet their new teacher/s. The children will be in groups of 10 and they can bring only one parent/carer with them. The groups have been allocated alphabetically according to the child’s surname. Unfortunately, we cannot change the time or the date your child is due to visit as we are limiting the number of extra visitors, we have in the school building. Once the children are settled the parent/ carer will leave and collect the child at the end of the session. We ask that all parent and carers practise social distancing from each other and from the staff. Children from the same class do not need to social distance.
Please download the document below for your allocated time.
A pack of paperwork has been sent to you by post, if you do not receive it please download and print it from the links below.
There are a number of documents in your pack which require completing before your child starts school. ALL documents need to be returned to the school office before 8 July 2020, between 9:30am and 2:30pm daily. If you misplace a document most can be downloaded below. Failure to return the paperwork, including photographs of all contacts who are authorised to collect your child, may result in a delay for your child starting school.
Paperwork to be completed and returned to school by 8 July 2020:
Purple Liverpool City Council admission form
Additional paperwork for your information:
Social Media Guidelines for parents carers and governors 2020 (voluntary return)
Telephone Appointment Letter
Parents and carers should also read the information on the New parent presentation 2020 PDF. We appreciate that this may be an anxious time for you and your child; we hope that the information on our website will help to answer some of your questions. The parents tab of the website gives information about school uniform, including a link to order uniform from our main supplier, Trutex.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer your child any visits to the school at this current time. In your pack you will find a transition booklet, this will provide your child with details about their classroom and teacher. There is also a school tour video on the website which may help you and your child become more familiar with our school.
We have also put together the following information as a simple guide to how you can best prepare your child for this exciting time in their lives.
Please check the time you have been allocated a telephone call with the class teacher and let us know before 8 July 2020 if this time is not suitable. This telephone call will replace the usual face to face meeting in September and is an opportunity to tell us about your child.
We look forward to meeting you as you return your paperwork over the coming week and welcoming you and your family properly in September.
Best wishes and many thanks for your cooperation at this challenging time,
Ms R Thomas and the staff at Sudley Infant School
